Timber Site Model of Liverpool Docks.

The fourth years have currently been working in groups to master plan an area of land beside the proposed ‘Liverpool Waters’ site. Luke and his team decided to mass the existing and proposed developments from Meranti timber and use a plywood base which they hand routed. Unfortunately for his team the new CNC router had not yet been installed so they had to hand rout the water and then use sand paper to finish, they then jigsawed the site which they will master plan away in order for the model to be used again by simply removing the cutout and making a new one. This process would have been a lot quicker and easier on a router but the commitment they showed to do it by hand is highly commendable and is finished to a very high standard.  The gentle contrast between the plywood layers and the Meranti wood give this model a clean, solid quality.
